About this Project

The new Virgin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, designed by the acclaimed Rockwell Group of New York, represents a bold fusion of architectural innovation and cutting-edge craftsmanship. Among its standout features is a striking custom wood ceiling structure, expertly manufactured by American Architectural Products Group.

Comprising over 3,500 panels, the ceiling design reflects Rockwell Group's vision of a dynamic, multifaceted aesthetic. To achieve this intricate look, American Architectural Products Group developed custom hardware systems that enable the panels to form dramatic, multi-height "V" shapes, delivering depth and visual intrigue to the space.

The panels are made of a Class 'A' Fire Rated Carbon Zero High Pressure Laminate (HPL) in a maple finish, paired with custom-matched plywood edges and a fire-rated core. This composite design not only meets rigorous fire safety standards but also maintains the natural warmth and texture desired for the space.

The ceiling structure stands as a centerpiece within the Virgin Hotel & Casino, embodying a seamless blend of artistry, engineering, and sustainability. This project highlights the collaboration between visionary designers and expert manufacturers, resulting in a space that is both innovative and unforgettable.

The original design was for a birch plywood ceiling. We designed the custom hardware to hold the panels precisley in alignment. To meet the demands of the Fire Code, we developed a composite structure using Class A Fire Rated Carbon Zero HPL, and custom plywood edgeband.
