About this Project
AAPG partnered with HKS Architects to bring innovative millwork solutions to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Collaborating closely during the design process, AAPG developed unique backlit features that add a welcoming and calming atmosphere throughout the property, enhancing the hospital’s child-friendly environment.
AAPG’s CompactWood® phenolic panels, installed using the Panawall® Wall Panel System, provided exceptional durability with high-impact resistance and antimicrobial surfaces. These panels were specifically engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of healthcare settings, including exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals, ensuring long-lasting functionality and hygiene.
Carbon Zero HPL laminates were used extensively for casework, aligning the project with sustainable and eco-conscious design principles. Additionally, AAPG’s custom real wood wallcovering was applied to ceilings and soffits throughout the facility, adding warmth and a natural aesthetic that complements the hospital’s healing environment.
