About Sapele

Sapele veneer, sourced from the Entandrophragma cylindricum tree native to West and Central Africa, is a highly durable and visually striking hardwood veneer known for its rich reddish-brown color and distinctive grain patterns. It is widely used in cabinetry, furniture, wall paneling, doors, and musical instruments due to its strength, stability, and excellent finishing properties.

Sapele veneer is available in various grain cuts, including quarter-sawn, which produces an elegant ribbon-stripe effect, and plain-sliced, which highlights its natural wavy grain. A particularly prized variation is Pommele Sapele, which exhibits a unique, three-dimensional, quilted or blistered figure that gives surfaces a shimmering, textured appearance. This luxurious, decorative effect makes Pommele Sapele veneer highly sought after for high-end interiors, automotive dashboards, and statement furniture pieces.

With its durability, rich coloration, and diverse grain options, Sapele veneer is an excellent alternative to mahogany, offering both beauty and performance in a wide range of applications.
